What is the use of iFace for?
In addition to all the benefits that simulators inherently bring to each branch and specialty of the medical field, iFace is the first company dedicated to creating hyper-realistic simulators for the aesthetic area of medicine. iFace allows professionals to refine their skills and practical techniques in every anatomical layer of the face, as if it were a real human face. The textures created by iFace mimic the anatomical tissues of the human face in an incredibly realistic manner. Reference points, muscle correlations, filler injections, needles or cannulas, and even thread placement are all procedures possible to perform on our simulators thanks to iFace technology. Aesthetic medical professionals can enhance their own practices and even share their knowledge like never before.
Is it the same as a mannequin?
Our iFaceSimulators are not mannequins, and the main difference, as the name suggests, is that they simulate or recreate real-life situations, in this case, a patient. The skin of the iFace simulators is composed in such a way that it allows for the use of hyaluronic acids and recreates the expansion of the area we are injecting, as would happen in a real patient. Additionally, when inserting a needle or cannula into the simulator, we can feel how we penetrate each layer, experiencing different resistances and textures. Moreover, we can insert thread lift sutures and visualize tensions similar to those visible in a real patient. Lastly, we can inject botulinum toxins into the muscle and observe a change in color in the targeted area.
Another significant difference, in addition to the simulation itself, is the development and time invested in the anatomical study behind each model. iFace not only has engineers but also a scientific committee that includes prominent figures in the field, such as Prof. Sebastian Cotofana. This is why iFaceSimulators stand out not only for their ability to simulate various procedures but also for the anatomy expressed in each model, which is elaborated based on the highest standards and with the latest discoveries in medicine, and tailored to each specific aspect you aim to achieve.
In summary, mannequins function as display models in which we can probably insert a needle, but we won’t experience a realistic sensation while doing so. Moreover, we won’t be able to observe physical or chemical reactions as we can in an iFaceSimulator. The anatomy of mannequins is rarely studied, analyzed, and carried out in collaboration with renowned anatomy experts as it is in iFaceSimulator.
Can I see the muscles, or is it just a layer of skin?
At iFace, we have a wide range of simulators, from full facial models to specific lip or nose models, female genital area models, buttocks, and skulls! In the case of the iFace S1, our most comprehensive full-face anatomical model, it allows you to visualize all the layers of the face, from the skin to the bone. Therefore, we can visualize the skin, the superficial fat tissue layer, veins and arteries, muscles, intramuscular fat tissues, deep fat tissues, ligaments, and bones.
Why does it have veins and arteries on only one side?
In the case of the iFaceSimulator S1, where we can lift the skin and superficial fat to observe the musculature, we will find that only on the left side, there will be veins and arteries, while on the right side, there will be muscles without vessels. This is because, on one hand, the right side is dedicated to the study of the musculature, and the left side is for the study of the veins, arteries, and their interaction with the musculature. Additionally, the right side can be lifted to observe the deep planes, deep fat compartments, ligaments, and bone.
In summary, the iFaceSimulator S1’s specialized design features separate sides for veins, arteries, and muscles, providing a focused and in-depth examination of each component. This distinction allows for a thorough understanding of both vascular and muscular aspects of facial anatomy, enhancing the learning experience for medical practitioners and students.
What can be done with the iFaceSimulator?
With iFaceSimulators, various procedures can be performed, ranging from anatomical learning of each structure, area, and layer of the face to the practice of injection repeatedly. This allows us to overcome any fear before moving on to a real patient and to observe the reactions our injections will generate. So, not only can we learn the injection technique, body positioning, arm and hand placement, and overcome the fear of penetrating the different layers before working on a real patient, but we can also visualize the effects of our techniques.
Additionally, if you are not a beginner, you can refine your techniques, create new ones, and teach on the simulators without the risk of needing a real patient for practice. Therefore, simulators offer a wide range of possibilities, and much of it depends on your needs and your desire to continue improving or starting in the aesthetic field in a much more practical way while avoiding possible improper procedures.
Why would an iFace be useful for my seminars?
The use of iFaceSimulators in seminars creates an innovative and immersive experience for participants. It enables effective teaching and demonstration, allowing instructors to delve deeply into the knowledge they wish to convey. From one-on-one practice with simulators to the ability to demonstrate techniques as an instructor and enable each participant to replicate them simultaneously, with the instructor providing real-time feedback, it makes the learning experience truly unique. This technology ensures that participants can acquire knowledge not only theoretically but also technically, as they practice techniques as many times as necessary to perform them safely. Knowing that the techniques were learned and executed correctly, as visualized through the simulators, adds to the confidence in the learning process.
Lastly, the use of simulators does not require any special agreements, either from a legal or technical perspective, unlike the use of cadavers. Furthermore, simulators can be reused in multiple seminars, not just once.
In summary, by using the iFaceSimulator, you offer your new injector the opportunity to practice extensively, whether it’s once, twice, ten times, or as many times as necessary, to a degree that would be impossible with a human being. However, you are helping your students or injectors gain practice and, more importantly, build confidence before injecting a real patient. Therefore, if you aim to excel in your seminars and provide participants with the best possible educational experience, having iFaceSimulators in the future is essential.
What are the materials that can be injected?
In iFaceSimulators, various products can be injected, ranging from real hyaluronic acids and botulinum toxins to fake hyaluronic acids, water, ultrasound gel, and much more. There aren’t many limitations on products; as long as it has a viscosity and density similar to the product we want to mimic and isn’t corrosive or harmful, it can be used without issues.
Can you observe voluminization if I inject the iFaceSimulator?
If we perform superficial or deep aesthetic procedures on our iFaceSimulators, we can observe volumization very similar to what we might see in a real patient. From lip enhancement to nose tip correction and jawline contouring, we can observe reactions similar to those we could see in a real patient. Moreover, we can feel with our hands and perceive with our eyes the effects achieved in different areas, even being able to shape the effect with our fingers, just as we would in a real patient, providing a level of hyper-realistic simulation never seen before. However, we should always keep in mind that, because it’s a simulator and not a real patient, we may need to inject a bit more product to achieve the same effect.
How do I remove the product?
Once the product, for example, hyaluronic acid, has been injected superficially, such as in the model’s lip, it can be removed as follows: When you see the desired effect, press with your fingers. Once you create a bubble, make a small hole with a needle, then continue to press so that the product escapes through that hole until no more product remains inside.
In the case where the product is located deeper, as with the iFace S1, you will lift the skin. If the acid is in the fatty tissue, follow the same procedure as with the lip, but from inside. If the product is above the muscle, clean it with a damp cloth. If it’s even deeper, touching the periosteum, lift the muscle and clean it, just as you did with the muscle, using a damp cloth.
This way, you can perform the injections you desire as many times as needed, observing both the external and internal reactions and where the product has been placed in relation to the different anatomical structures. You can then remove it and repeat the process as many times as necessary.
How many procedures can I perform with my simulator?
In iFaceSimulators, you can perform various aesthetic procedures, such as dermal fillers, non-surgical rhinoplasty, neurotoxins, ultrasound use, and much more. Additionally, you can anatomically visualize each facial structure. We also encourage doctors who own an iFace simulator to create their own techniques and procedures with our models.
